Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. Sara Ramirez was raised by an American mother, and was subjected to a variety of racist taunts and made her feel unwelcome. In the ninth grade, after a school audition in which she was praised for her voice, she started to build confidence. Not only did it boost her confidence, but also her goals transformed. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot She played The Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as critical praise. The following year, she was cast in the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. Alongside being an acclaimed singer she released a solo and an extended piece. She is also an activist who is active to promote LGBT rights.
