Cassandra Monique Batie known professionally as Andra Day is an American R&B and soul singer as well as songwriter and actress. She's won a Grammy Award and Children's and Family Emmy Award. Records and started work with the producer Adrian Gurvitz on her debut album Cheers to the Autumn (2015). The song "Rise Up" was a hit worldwide in social justice movements. Day has received two Grammy nominations, one of which was for Best R&B Album. The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a concept-album about the legendary jazz singer's life and career, came out in the year 2019.
